THE CHURCH | 008

Love God, Love Others is the single most important thing we talked about all year. From the first time Korey brought up the theme of 'The Way of Jesus' on Mt. Albert Edwards, the majority of our chapel sessions, to the Devos lead during our out trips it was a theme we talked lots and learned lots about through-out the year.
This year has given us the opportunities and experiences to; serve in a local church doing Friday night youth ministry, Sunday morning kids ministry, Host team, Setup and other various roles around the church, we have been able to serve at camp in a variety of different roles during fall retreats from counseling to kitchen we did it all, we have been immersed in practical courses that have taught us more about our faith and have to live it out, we had the chance to serve our local community with yard work, cleaning, and whatever they needed, just showing them the love of Jesus, and we have had the chance to live in community with each other, learning how to love everyone in everything, how to deal with conflict, and create strong relationships that will  stay with us into the next chapter of our lives.
These past couple weeks have looked a lot different, from the official program ending early, people going home, and being on lockdown at camp, things are not necessarily normal around here. Our Sunday mornings no longer look like going to our respective churches around the area but look like those of us who are still at camp attending church online together, it no longer looks like experiencing that connection time before the service, or the mentorship to the youth in person. But what hasn't changed is our call do still do these things, we may not be able to do things the 'normal way' but we are still able to connect with others. For me it has looked like attending church online with the rest of the students but also with my Church back home, it has looked like calling and checking in on some people who wouldn't get much social interaction because of the circumstances, it has been doing youth and small groups online on Friday nights instead of in person. Although we may be physically distanced we are still called to Love Others.

I am not to sure what the future of this blog looks like, as this is the last official post I need to make for class, I may continue I may not, I haven't decided yet. But until then,

Thanks for reading, Take Care.
